Dear LeBlanc "kids" and families, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mother and an amazing person. Her small group math lessons (making and using our own abacus) were the educational highlight of my elementary academic experiences. Fun, engaging and certainly a novel way to experience math back in the days. What a patient person to hang out with us kids when she had the intellect to be hanging out with top scientists instead. Presumably because of gender she didn't have opportunities she should have had. She was always welcoming when I visited your house - me noticing the stacks and stacks of books on stairs and most surfaces, and ducks? out back, but of course for me the standout memory would be food related - homemade hard candy she made on cookie sheets. Thinking of you all and sending love.
